Today’s snowy start may bring back bad memories for the state’s new labor commissioner – Val Hoyle and members of her family survived a head-on crash on Thanksgiving Day, when snow and ice on the roads around her Springfield home sent another driver into the oncoming lane. All parties escaped with bruises after the crash. Val Hoyle was elected Oregon’s State labor commissioner last year, after Brad Avakian stepped down.
