On July 26th, Salem City Council authorized the closure of parts of Winter and Union Streets in downtown Salem, on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm, to make travel more accessible for walking and biking to the Saturday Market. Councilor Virginia Stapleton talks about the bigger message behind the action and her priority as a councilor to make Salem a more bike and pedestrian friendly city.
