Willamette Wake Up 07/22/2021 Marion County Report. Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion.
Show Notes
Along with major crimes, local law enforcement deals with "low level" offenses and often deal with the same offenders over and over again. These offenders are not necessarily "criminal", but due to a variety of reasons their behaviors become a nuisance to the general public. To assist law enforcement AND the people committing the offenses, Marion County created a program to address the underlying issues keeping people in the eye of law enforcement. The program is called Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD), and we hear how it works and its success with navigator Josh Lair and program manager Lisa Miller.
