On Wednesday, May 8th over 2,000 educators, students and supporters met at Riverfront Park in Salem to advocate for more funding to address the increasing needs of students. The president of the National Education Association, Lily Eskelsen Garcia spoke about the national trend to de-fund education and encouraged the crowd to keep fighting to fully fund education.
