Racial Disparity in Oregon's Criminal Justice System & Proposals for Change
Show Notes
RJOC’s Corner presents excerpts of a recent talk by retired criminal defense attorney, Jesse Wm. Barton. Barton reviews data showing racial disparities in Oregon’s criminal justice system. Then he offers proposals to: 1) ensure criminal trial juries are truly made up “of peers”, and 2) change the grand jury system to make law enforcement more accountable in police shootings.
